Dr Gemma Cadby
Research Interests: Genetic aetiology of complex traits
Dr Gemma Cadby is a Research Fellow, at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences UWA and genetic epidemiologist at the Centre for GOHaD. She completed her PhD investigating genetic variants associated with melanoma severity in 2010 from the University of Western Australia. She then spent 2 years at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. Since returning to the University of Western Australia, her research has focused on understanding the genetic aetiology of complex traits, with a particular interest in mesothelioma and cardiovascular disease. Most recently, Gemma has a research project investigating the effect of sleep apnoea severity on long-term health outcomes in Western Australian adults. Gemma co-chairs the BPMRI Community Advisory Committee, consisting of community representatives who have input into BPMRI’s research activities.
