Clinical Professor Dominic Mallon

Research Interests: Clinical immunology, allergy and immunopathology

Dr Dominic Mallon graduated from UWA in 1987 and completed his internship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He commenced his specialist training at Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital before completing the specialist training in Immunology and Allergy at Westmead Hospital in 1995. Dominic returned to Perth in 1997 and took up positions at Fremantle Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital as a clinican and laboratory pathologist.

Dominic has an active clinical practice in all areas of paediatric and adult clinical immunology, allergy and immunopathology. He participates in collaborative research into the cellular mechanisms of effective desenstisation to aeroallergens. He has also been an advocate for improvements in healthcare as Chair of the Fremantle Medical Staff Association (2004-6), President of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (2006-2008) and as Chief Pathologist, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA (2009-present).
