How can I participate in the Busselton Health Studies as a study subject?

Many of the studies rely upon a representative cross-section of the community therefore for some studies participants are recruited randomly through the electoral roll, while others are previous attendees of earlier studies. All school-aged children in the City of Busselton were also given the opportunity to participate in the 2005 – 2007 survey.

Up until June 2023 all residents aged 18 years or older and listed on the 2019 electoral roll were eligible to take part in the Busselton Respiratory Study 2020-2023. Enrolment into this study has now closed.

Currently we are seeking funding to be able to retest the 5107 adults born between 1946 and 1964 “Baby Boomers”  who participated in the Busselton Healthy Ageing Study between 2010 and 2015 and the first 5 year follow up which commenced in March 2016 and was completed in early 2022. Even if you are no longer living in the region, you may still be eligible to continue to take part in future aspects of this survey.  For further information or to ensure we have your current contact details please call our office on 9754 0548 or email us.
